Moir Studio was engaged by the Hills Shire Council to produce a sports complex master plan for the former Horseworld equestrian site, once a world class equestrian facility, located in the Maraylya area of Western Sydney.

The site was identified for its potential to become a premier sporting centre within the Hills Shire Local Government Area, servicing the expected 30,000 extra residents by 2036.

The master plan's vision was to respond to the needs of a rapidly changing sporting landscape that focused on recreation, leisure, and connection with the natural environment.

The master plan incorporated a multi-court basketball/ gymnastic facility (retrofitting the existing equestrian stadium), two multi-use sporting fields, a sprinting track, an outdoor fitness activity trail, a skate park, a pump track, expansive open parklands for passive recreation, and cycle tracks that link to proposed adjoining developments.
