Located in the heart of the Hunter Valley and a premier development within The Vintage, The Oaks is a residential lifestyle community and tourist destination set around parklands, vineyards, mountains, and a championship golf course. The Stevens Group commissioned Moir Studio for the precinct design of this benchmark estate.

Collaboration with a local sculptor allowed for a bespoke centrepiece for the park, and coordination with the golf course achieved a connection to the existing golf cart access routes with the new development. These initiatives improved on the passive recreation area and assisted in promoting social interaction amongst the residents.

A sensitive approach to the rural character of the overall area ensured the retention of an existing dam for local fauna and habitat. Passive design solutions included a well-considered planting design that connected the surrounding golf course with the contextual attributes resulting in natural drainage. The planting of deciduous street trees increased shade and offered passive climate management.
